RAHEL & LUCIA and our Mozambican adventure
Met in South Africa
How Did It All Begin
We met in a hostel in Southafrica and after our fifth talk we decided very spontaneously to go for one month to Mozambique. We didn't had a plan or any idea where to go, but we knew that we wanted to surf the waves of Mozambique. After our first adventurous night in Maputo we went to look for the waves in the province of Inhamabane. But we found much more then waves. We both had been fascinated by the colourful local fabrics and we decided to make us a skirt. We worked with a local tailor to create it. As we found the result amazing, we decided to produce more and bring it back to Europe. A lot of friends got involved and helped us in this project as much unknown people: it seems like it was meant to be. We are very proud to share with you something from our adventure in Mozambique.
Architect swiss made, born in Ticino. Since my first trip in Africa when I still was a student in EPFL I fell in love with this special and beautiful place. I've been traveling often in the African continent in the last years and during my last trip I've met the adventurous Rahel and her passion for surfing. WARAIA was a totally unexpected project. It came naturally from the combination of our skills as architect and florist.
Born in a small town called Müstair in the mountains of Switzerland. Be creative has always been a part of my life, since I studied as a florist. I love to work with colours and create something new. When I have a chance to leave and explore the world I always take it. I've never imagined that I would have created a project in Mozambique. Meeting Lucia, traveling with her and designing WARAIA is a wonderful experience and I'm happy to share this with you.
We have a lot of friends that helped us and we want to thank them
